Joy of Photo editing

I was just flipping through photos and saw some before/after shots I did. Interesting, now you can see the real magic of a photographer- the combination of composure and computer skills.

Jake

For those of you who don't know, my golden retriever is getting old and gave us a scare. He was acting heavily sedated and as if he was going to die.

Thankfully he pulled out of it and now walks around a bit here and there.

Here's a picture I snapped of him that night.

Peace Out

Busy busy busy

Hello friends!

To say this past week has been "hectic" is an understatement. Sure I have had bits of time here and there waiting for what's coming up next, but life has been flying almost constantly. The end seems beyond the horizon, with faith that while I don't see it- I hope it will come sometime.

An example of what is to come-
Friday- School, bus driving, shoot for the Chamber of Commerce "taste of the lakes" event
Saturday- Mow, Wedding shoot in Norwood Young America, mow some more
Sunday- Church, Mow, Senior photo shoot, Mow
Monday- School, bus driving, 20 Something @ church, edit wedding
Tuesday mow, school, bus driving, mow/edit wedding
Wed- School, bus driving, church, edit wedding/homework
Thursday- mow, school, bus driving, edit wedding

And that's my weekly schedule it seems until it snows!
- I'll pop up some photos in the next day or so. As for now- I am off to bus driving!

Peace Out,
Travis Johansen

What Have I Become? / Fantasy Art

I was quick reading a report about a photographer who switched from Canon to Nikon, and checking out his website I found this image.Titled "What Have I Become"-

What Have I Become? / Fantasy Art
http://www.lombergar.com/gallery/what_have_i_become-a85.html
Here's a little of what hit me-
The faceless child, blinded yet beautiful, the child in all of us, memories of childhood, poverty, world beyond our own, new vs. old...

Images, words, stories- this image really speaks to me. How about you?

Minnesota's great get-together

Day at the Fair. For my mom's birthday we went to the Minnesota State fair. I really did not want to carry my big camera around, so here is what I took with my Blackberry (camera phone).

I really enjoyed the lumberjack show, and the Johnny Holm band. That was the first time I saw chain saws in person with expansion chambers (speed cutting/hot rod/modified for tons of power). There was also a weird Reggae/pOlKa band that we listened to for a bit, that was a little strange and yet intriguing.

Photo wise, this week I have 2 senior photo shoots on Wednesday and I start my full load of classes (every day) this week. TJ's LawnCare (my other business- did you know that?) is really busy with the rain we have had and the perfect growing weather. I start bus driving my PM routes in a week, and still shooting weddings on weekends.

The weather also has been quite decent for photos. Green grass, nice foliage color/life, and comfortable temperatures.

Make it a Great Week!

Model

Today I shot a wedding with Julie Anne Photography (like always), but had more fun than usual. I look forward to the day I get to do my own. That will be fun, but I think I could do it. And I'd sure get some cool and creative shots! My mind was spinning all day with "hey, how about this" or "if i was there at this angle- i could totally get a sweet shot!

Here's a pic from a little while back, of my good friend back in (what I am calling now) my Outdoor Studio. Tuesday after I finish my other photo jobs I hope to finish up her package of photos and create a page on my website. So check back tuesday night or sometime on Wednesday.

Peace-
Travis

Back to blogging!

Hello friends!

I just recently realized that many of you don't have facebook/myspace accounts. Which makes it really difficult to follow my blogs. As a result, I am working on a way to make a public blog accessible to anyone-anywhere.
So you won't have to login and go searching for my recent events, you can just enjoy them at http://www.tjsphotography.blogspot.com/ .

Let's kick things off with a couple photos from last mondays shoot of Travis. (easy name for me to remember)
